CYNTHIA MCKINNEY IN NYC THIS FRIDAY JULY 18TH!!

CONTACT:
Karen Young, NYPP
mckinney_nyc@yahoo.com
773-517-6433 (cell)

Who: NY Power to the People, Cynthia McKinney for President

What: Campaign Launch – Get McKinney On New York Ballot

Where: Manhattan Neighborhood Network, 537 W. 59th St. near 11th Ave., Main Floor, Manhattan

When: Friday, July 18th, 7PM – 8PM

Cynthia McKinney, the 6-term Congresswoman from Georgia, is now the Green Party nominee for President of the United States. This is an unprecedented opportunity for progressives to support a Black woman candidate for President, and to help build a truly multi-racial coalition for social and economic justice.  In order to place McKinney on the New York ballot in November, supporters must gather 30,000 petition signatures before August 17.

McKinney will speak at 7:15 and then take questions.

Evergreen Chou, a Green Party candidate for Congress, will also speak. Chou became involved in the Green Party in 1996, is a co-founder of the Flushing Greens, and is running for US House or Representatives in District 5. Chou has run campaigns in New York state in 2002 and 2004,
advocating social justice and environmental issues.

After the press conference, members of the New York City Green Party and New York Power to the People Committee (McKinney supporters) will report back from the national Green Party convention in Chicago, held on July 10-13, and prepare volunteers for petitioning all over New York City.

Important! Monday PS Greens Meeting Plan Change!

July 14th, 2008 by admin in News / Events

In This Message:

1) PLAN CHANGE FOR MONDAY 7/14 Park Slope Greens Meeting -

**************************

IMPORTANT IMPORTANT!!!
PLAN CHANGE FOR PARK SLOPE GREENS MEETING
MONDAY JULY 14TH MEETING - 7PM

Dear Members,

We apologize for this late notice, but wanted to let you know that there has been a change of plan for our July 14th meeting.

Originally we had planned to hold our meeting at the Methodist church (as usual) where we would have had reports from the delegates who had just returned from the Green Party National convention in Chicago.

However, due to our excitement about the nomination of Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente as the Green Party presidential and vise  Presidential candidates, we want to waste no time in getting the 30,000 signatures needed to get them on the ballot in New York!!

So, on Monday evening instead of sitting and talking, we will start moving our feet and go out petitioning together as a group. Please come and join us!! We will meet in front of the Methodist church (corner of 6th Avenue and 8th street) at 7pm. We will have petitions for those of you who don’t have them and we can give you a quick training on how to petition if you don’t yet know how.

If you want to join us but will arrive later than 7pm, please call (347) 218-3107 or (917) 886-4538 to find out where we are. We will of course also leave a note on the gate of the church for those who do not get this message in time.

If you cannot join us to petition on Monday evening but would like to petition between now and August 10th, to help us get Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente on the ballot, please contact us at (718) 788-2260 and we will certainly pair you with experienced petitioners.

LETS GET CYNTHIA MCKINNEY AND ROSA CLEMENTE ON THE BALLOT!!!
